A few months back, our administrator, Nancy moved to Sun City Georgetown. When she was first considering this move I have to admit I did not think it would work out for her.  First off, Sun City is known as a golfing community and neither she nor her husband play golf. I also did not think either of them would be too fond of all the deed restrictions Del Web residents are bound to.  Well, I was sure wrong.

I just didn’t see it coming.  They love it there.  In fact, they can’t get enough.  It seems like every other night they are going to a social  and at least a few times a week she is attending a coffee at a friend or neighbors.

Now I would never describe my mother as a senior citizen.  However, she does get some special discounts at Dennys’s.  The truth is that this community provides a safe, tight knit environment with many different activities and amenities that even non-golfers would love. 

She is able to enjoy the freedom that owning your own home offers. Without all the maintenance that is generally associated with owning an older home.  The homes are all nicely kept and it is generally quiet.   

Truthfully, I don’t ever see her wanting to leave.  That is why at Care At Home in Georgetown we are doing everything we can to get the word out to the residents of Sun City that you don’t have to leave your home.  You can enjoy all your community has to offer as long as you want to.  Care At Home specializes in bringing all the senior services you would find in a nursing home or assisted living center, directly to you in your home. The elderly residents of this community can continue to attend the events and socials they regularly do, despite their physical or mental condition.  Having an in-home senior care agency to assist you is the key to greater independence. 

We are very fortunate to have wonderful senior services here in the Austin area.  Sun City and Care At Home have created a wonderful way to gracefully and actively embrace an aging community.
