Co-owner John Hilsher is a champion for in-home care in Austin. His passion and mastery of customer service has reached the guru level. His extensive collection of tools and 1970's era home secured his position as the staff handyman as well. Away from work he can be found playing a never ending game of tug-of-war with his dogs and is anxiously awaiting his first child with his lovely wife.
Alzheimer's care is an art
Earlier, I wrote an article called “Finding dignity in Alzheimer’s care” that described the thoughtful way in which a home health aide provided service to a Care At Home client with Alzheimer’s. Today, I saw a great article in The New York Times that shows just how much of a difference a compassionate caregiver can make in the life of a senior with dementia.
The article “Zen and the Art of Coping With Alzheimer’s” starts out with some cold hard facts about the disease but ends with some very helpful advice for people caring for parents with Alzheimer’s here in Austin.
